Part 1 - Developing Future Leaders
Anthony Lorenzo - Tiwi People, from Tiwi Islands - graduated from the JIME Guide Program in 2017/18 after 4 years working for the Hayden Reynolds project in the Tiwi Islands. Anthony now works full time as a fully-fledged Marine Guide with Tiwi Island Adventures. Since graduating from the JIME Program, he has travelled the world fishing in New Zealand, and Alaska, Florida and Vancouver.
He now is a proud mentor to Junior Indigenous Guides in Tiwi Islands and Cairns and is a future leader in his community.
The Junior Indigenous Marine and Environmental Cadet Program (JIME) provides a path for Indigenous Children to gain meaningful employment keeping them connected to their communities and giving them confidence to become leaders.
Okanui has teamed up with NAIDOC acclaimed Artist Daren Dunn to develop the JIME Collection. This collection supports of the current and future students of the JIME Program.
Okanui are donating 10% of every product from the JIME Collection back into the JIME Program.
