‘7 miles from Sydney a thousand miles from care’, was a tourism slogan used for Manly in the 1920’s. Fast forward 100 years and it’s just as easy to understand where this dreamy slogan originated and why it stuck.
Famous for its beautiful beaches, friendly locals and eclectic mix of waterfront restaurants, shops and cafes, Manly is a vibrant hub of surf culture, arts and activities.
Here are four of our favourite things to do in and around Manly to Escape the Everyday.
Rent a single or a double kayak from Manly Kayak Rentals and paddle the pristine waters of North Harbour. Take in the stunning scenery while you explore several exclusive beaches, making sure to stop by our favourite; Store Beach - a stunning strip of sand located in North Head Reserve, accessible only by kayak or private boat.
Located in North Manly, The Okanui Headquarters are the place for all your summer essentials, season favourites and exclusive sales. Located at 5/410 Pittwater Rd, North Manly, stop by and say hi to our friendly team.
Offering 1.3km of coastline, several breaks and both an east and northeasterly swell, it’s no wonder Manly remains one of the best places to surf in Sydney. Great for beginners through to the experienced surfer and a popular spot for many international competitions, Manly is a firm favourite and not to be missed surf destination!
Pack a picnic and roll out the blanket at this popular little hangout, known to locals as “The Office”. Busiest on weekends, this family-friendly grassy little stretch of Manly’s East Esplanade Reserve, situated next to Manly Wharf, is the perfect spot to wind down and watch the sun go down any day of the week.
