Snorkel with the Sea Turtles

Search for friendly giant sea turtles, exotic fish, colorful corals and graceful manta rays as you snorkel the waters of Byron Bay’s Julian Rocks Marine Reserve.

As one of Australia’s top dive and snorkel destinations, Julian Rocks is a sanctuary filled with an abundance of wild and wonderful sea creatures. Combining marine life from the cool waters of the deep Southern Ocean with those found in the tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef, the area boasts more than 1000 different species of interesting underwater animals just waiting to be discovered. Watch the sunrise from Cape Byron Lighthouse

Wake up early for a not to be missed sunrise at the most easterly point in Australia.

With stunning coastal cliffs offering spectacular panoramic views of the Byron landscape, the iconic Cape Byron Lighthouse is the perfect location for that picture-perfect sunrise and doubles as an amazing location to spot dolphins and whales once day has broken.

Drive or scooter up to the lighthouse in the pre-dawn dark to secure your sunrise spot or, alternatively, walk up via the Byron Bay Lighthouse Walk also known as The Cape Byron Lighthouse track. A 4km clearly signposted trail, this walk takes you on an unforgettable hike through lush rainforest, sandy beaches, and past green grassland, and stunning clifftops. Accessible from multiple points The Cape Byron Lighthouse track makes for a great day out whatever time of day you choose to adventure!
