Its Whale Season

There’s something truly special about this time of year along our coastline. As the days start to warm up and the ocean breeze carries that familiar salt spray, we’re reminded that nature is always moving , and right now, so are the whales.

Every winter and spring, these gentle giants make their epic journey along the east coast of Australia, and if you’re lucky enough, you’ll spot them breaching and playing just beyond the break. For us at Okanui, watching the whales drift by is a reminder to slow down, look up, and soak in the beauty of where we live. Escaping the everyday in moments like this help keep us connected to our roots and inspire everything we do.

Next time you’re near the coast, keep an eye out. You might catch a pod cruising north with their calves, or see a giant breach against a fiery sunset.
